Cynthia Jackson | Motorhome & Van Life Correspondent

Cynthia Jackson has spent eight years living and working from a self-converted Ram ProMaster — not as a lifestyle experiment, but as a permanent choice. She covered her first RV show in 2018, has attended RVIA expos in Louisville, and has tested everything from budget teardrops to six-figure Sprinter builds from the driver's seat, not a press release.
Her focus at RV Journal is the premium compact motorhome segment — Class B, B+, and adventure-oriented Class C rigs — where she tracks manufacturer decisions, chassis developments, and real-world ownership costs that don't show up in brochures. She's currently spec'ing her transition from van life to a 4×4 Super C for full-time travel, which means she's read every floorplan, weight rating, and warranty document in the segment more than once.
Cynthia studied journalism at the University of Missouri. Her work is informed by actual miles driven, actual campgrounds stayed in, and actual conversations with owners in RV forums and at rallies — not manufacturer talking points.

Current rig: 2019 Ram ProMaster self-build. Next rig: undecided, but the shortlist has changed seventeen times.
