Arthur York | RV Gear, Tech & Full-Time Travel

Arthur York left Michigan with a journalism degree, a 2019 Tiffin Wayfarer Class C, and a preference for figuring things out the hard way. He's been living full-time on the road ever since, which means his gear and tech coverage comes from actual troubleshooting — not spec sheets.

His Wayfarer runs 600 watts of rooftop solar feeding a 460Ah lithium bank, which gives him the freedom to stay wherever he wants for as long as he wants. And he uses it. This past winter he boondocked outside Quartzsite with the crowds, then broke from the pack and spent over a month at a casino in Yuma — full hookups, surprisingly good Wi-Fi, zero regrets. He's currently working his way through Colorado before eventually pointing north to spend summer in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

He doesn't tow a car. A fat-tire e-bike hanging off the back handles everything a toad would, with fewer headaches and better trail access. He's currently researching extended trips into Mexico and Canada, which means his coverage at RV Journal is about to get considerably more interesting.

Arthur writes about the gear that actually matters for serious RV travel — solar and lithium systems, connectivity, climate management, and the new rigs worth paying attention to. If it affects how long you can stay off-grid or how well the rig performs on the road, he's already tested it or is in the process of doing so.

Current rig: 2019 Tiffin Wayfarer. Current location: somewhere in Colorado, heading north.
